Simi Aktisys is the result of a long development of high-perfomance algorithms for the recognition of markers in real-time on videos as well as the automatic identification of those. The many years of intense research enabled the launch of Simi Aktisys. In collaboration with research partners from all over the world, Simi was able to reach a new milestone to improve video analysis technology.

 

 

Aktisys measurement protocols

Gait analysis sagital

 

Five markers are used in the protocol gait analysis sagital. These are attached to the forefoot, underneath the ankle joint, to the knee joint, trochanter major and the shoulder.

The protocol automatically measures the angles for the ankle joint (dorsiflexion/plantarflexion), knee (extension/flexion), hip (extension/flexion) and the tilt of the upper body. All measurements appear in real-time on the live picture. The data can be immediately discussed with the patient. The gait phases according to the model of Rancho Los Amigos can be pointed out at the same time. Amplitudes of the joint angles, step length, stance and swing phase as well as all phases with pictures and reference values are automatically displayed in the report without further user input. For each phase the video picture, the corresponding angles with reference values as well as the reference data graph with normal data for 100% of the gait cycle is shown. With this protocol, a clinical gait analysis can be performed very quickly and easily in just a few minutes. Most importantly the patient gets an immediate therapeutic feedback to improve the progress.

 

 

 

Gait and running analysis frontal

 

Five markers are used in the protocol gait and running analysis frontal. These are attached to the ankle joint in the front, to the patella, the spina iliacia anterior left and right as well as to the sternum.

The protocol automatically measures the angles for knee (valgus/varus), pelvic drop, and trunk lean. All measurements appear in real-time on the live picture. The data and video can be discussed with the patient immediately. Phases for initial contact, max. knee flexion and terminal contact can be set. Already during the exercise, the patient gets real time biofeedback. The results can be discussed with the patient immediately. Automatically and without further input, the report shows the angle amplitudes of trunk, pelvis and knee as well as the pictures and values at the specified phases. With this protocol gait and running analysis but also other tests for stability evaluation like step down, squat jumps and other can be performed very quickly and easily. The protocol helps improving diagnosis and documentation and most importantly gives a direct therapeutic feedback to the patient to improve his progress.
